Daignoswiss´s main activity is related to mass fabrication of polymer microchips with integrated electrodes; Functionalisation and surface treatment of microchips for biosensor applications; Affinity assays in nL volumes with electrochemical detection; Disposable electrospray ionisation chips for automated mass spectrometric analysis; Proteomics with isoelectric protein or peptide pre-fractionation in solution followed by LC-MS.
DiagnoSwiss was created in 1999, and is committed to the development and commercialisation of polymer micro-systems for (bio)chemical analysis. DiagnoSwiss creates proteomics platforms for affinity assay with electrochemical detection, as well as pre-fractionation tools for complex biological samples with subsequent analysis of proteins or peptides by mass spectrometry. DiagnoSwiss is filling the gap between high-throughput screening platforms and proteomics for advanced drug discovery and diagnosis. Mass production of low cost polymer chips with specific surface treatment and immobilisation procedures as well as electrophoretic purification of proteins in free flowing solution are the key elements of DiagnoSwiss’ innovating and proprietary technology. DiagnoSwiss’ micro-systems enable high-throughput protein discovery, identification of protein structure and activity, as well as affinity testing (protein-protein, protein-small molecule interactions and immunological assays).
DiagnoSwiss is equipped with up-to-date instrumentation for protein analysis, namely: standard isoelectric focusing and 2D-gel electrophoresis systems, ESI ion-trap MS, capillary HPLC and electrochemical workstations (power supply and potentiostat). It also possesses conventional equipment for microchip functionalisation, sealing and packaging.
Diagnoswiss will be in charge of electrochemical detection in the different modules to be developed during the project.
